July 14, 2023The African American Credit Union Coalition (AACUC) will hold its 25th Anniversary Annual Conference July 16-20 at the Atlanta Evergreen Resort. The Virginia Credit Union League provides a scholarship to a credit union professional or volunteer to attend the conference. This year's scholarship winner is Chartway Credit Union's Melisande Corlett.

- Langley's Deb Vollmer Appointed to League Board
June 30, 2023Deb Vollmer, Chief Experience Officer at Newport News-based Langley Federal Credit Union, has been appointed to the Virginia Credit Union League’s Board of Directors. She will represent credit unions in the League’s Region 1 (Greater Hampton Roads), serving until the League Board’s 2024 elections. She fills the vacancy on the Board created by the departure of Kim Little.

The discussion was led by ABNB Federal Credit Union's Chris Anuswith and the League's JT Blau, both of whom noted that legislative and regulatory advocacy are critical in shaping the regulatory environment in which credit unions operate.
