Deb Vollmer, Chief Experience Officer at Newport News-based Langley Federal Credit Union, has been appointed to the Virginia Credit Union League’s Board of Directors. She will represent credit unions in the League’s Region 1 (Greater Hampton Roads), serving until the League Board’s 2024 elections. She fills the vacancy on the Board created by the departure of Kim Little.
“The League Board is pleased to welcome Deb, who brings with her decades of knowledge about our industry and a long history of support for our organization,” said Virginia Credit Union League Board Chairman Joe Thomas, CEO of Fairfax-based NextMark Credit Union. “We look forward to her contributions in helping the League better serve its member credit unions.”
Vollmer currently oversees various member experience functions at Langley, including the Member Feedback tool, Salesforce platform, Artificial Intelligence, and Knowledge Management systems. Additionally, Vollmer is responsible for frontline operations, which encompass the branch network, Contact Center, and Langley Financial Services Investment and Insurance activities.
Outside of Langley, Vollmer actively contributes to the community. She serves as Chairman of the Development Advisory Board for the Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters in Norfolk, Va., and holds a position on the Board of the Credit Union Service Company of Virginia, the organization that manages an extensive shared branching network for credit unions in Virginia and South Carolina.
The Virginia Credit Union League represents the Commonwealth’s credit unions, protecting and strengthening credit unions to ensure their success and ability to serve their members. The League’s core mission is to advocate for credit unions at the state and federal levels; offer professional development opportunities for member credit unions; provide compliance and operations resources; and deliver world-class products and services to credit unions through collaboration with a wide array of business partners.
