Members = Constituents. Credit unions are asked twice a year to run the safe and secure program called Project Zip Code, which determines the number of the credit union's members in each Congressional and state legislative district. This program is a great tool to remind lawmakers that they have thousands of credit union constituents. The program also can be used for marketing purposes. The annual VACUPAC Golf Classic is one of the most popular events on the League’s calendar. Not only is it a prime opportunity to relax on the golf course, but it’s also our signature fundraising event for the only Political Action Committee working exclusively for Virginia-based credit unions. This conference is the premier governmental affairs event hosted by the Credit Union National Association annually. Usually scheduled in February or March. Stay abreast of GAC news and announcements here. Your League hosts an advocacy event as either part of the League Annual Meeting or as a separate event in the Fall. Join us for a discussion on the political environment, our advocacy work and the latest credit union legislative/regulatory issues. Prepare your credit union’s staff, leadership and volunteers to be more effective and more comfortable in interacting with lawmakers. We can provide training to ensure you and your staff are effective advocates for your credit union and the movement.
