Your League, Your Advocate
Your League has served as a respected advocate for Virginia's not-for-profit, member-owned credit unions for more than 85 years, representing the interests of your credit union and your members. We monitor emerging issues that affect our credit unions, evaluate them, and raise the alert if grassroots action is needed for protecting credit unions and building a better future for our members.
Key focus areas are:
Your League's primary mission is to advocate on behalf of credit unions in Richmond and Washington. We work to build a supporting network of lawmakers who can create a positive legislative and regulatory environment for Virginia’s credit unions. Credit union advocates, like you, play a vital role in our efforts. Find out what is happening on the State and Federal levels.
Regulatory issues affect your day-to-day business, so they are one of our top priorities. Stay informed on the latest proposed rules and regulations and work with state and federal regulators to shape regulations and lessen your compliance burden.
Your League develops and manages programming and communication to advance our key advocacy initiatives, such as cultivating strategic media relations between our credit unions and various media outlets; increasing awareness of and generating interest in credit unions among key public influencers; and engaging in outreach that builds and expands awareness of Virginia-based credit unions.
Political action committees (PACs) solicit political contributions from those affiliated with the sponsoring organization or those with a shared interest in a given industry or cause. VACUPAC (or the Virginia Credit Union Political Action Committee) is your credit union's state-level, non-partisan PAC. Find out how you can make a difference.

Just two blocks from Capitol Square in the heart of downtown Richmond, the Credit Union House of Virginia anchors our corporate presence. A true collaborative effort by many sponsoring credit unions from across the Commonwealth, the three-story building also serves as a meeting space, historical museum, and brick-and-mortar testament to the "Credit Union Difference."
But it is best known for being a hospitality touchpoint to strengthen relationships between credit unions and lawmakers, influencers and other organizations. Learn more about Credit Union House or book your next event at our facility.
