June 7, 2023The Langley for Families Foundation raised over $535,000 in gross profits at its 9th Annual Charity Golf Classic in Williamsburg on May 16. Net proceeds from the event will be granted to Hampton Roads nonprofits in the areas of healthcare, housing and human services, and access to education.

Your League called the offices of every member of Virginia’s Congressional Delegation in the run-up to last night’s vote on the debt ceiling bill, urging a speedy resolution to the crisis. While the bill passed with broad bipartisan support in the House, passage in the Senate could prove trickier. The bill must garner at least 60 votes in the Senate to pass, and a vote could come as early as tonight.
- New Mural at Freedom First’s Elmwood Headquarters
June 1, 2023Freedom First Credit Union commissioned artist James Bullough to paint a new mural on the exterior of the downtown Roanoke headquarters building, located across from Elmwood Park. Bullough is known locally for the striking mural he painted on the West Station building on Salem Avenue next to Big Lick Brewing. On this project, he is collaborating with artist Onur Dinc.
