Authored By: Lewis Wood on 10/27/2021

The National Credit Union Administration is making available resources to credit unions related to the Modern Examination and Risk Identification Tool (MERIT).

Resources are available for credit unions to learn about the new examination system, including:

Implementation of Modernized Systems Letter to Credit Unions 21-CU-08
The NCUA issued a Letter to Credit Unions in August of 2021 about the NCUA’s modernized systems. The letter provides information about each of the modernized tools, information security, how to obtain access, and training resources.

Enterprise Solution Modernization (ESM) Program Webpage
The ESM program webpage outlines the history of the program and contains additional links to webpages for NCUA Connect, the Admin Portal, MERIT, and the Data Exchange Application (DEXA). Each webpage has information about the different tools, FAQs, training, and user guides. The ESM program webpage also contains a link to a webinar hosted by the NCUA’s Office of Business Innovation (OBI) for credit unions on September 8, 2021. The webinar includes information about the modernized examination tools, benefits for credit unions, how to obtain access and training resources.

MERIT Training for Credit Unions
The NCUA’s Office of Credit Union Resources and Expansion (CURE) developed on-demand MERIT training in its learning management system for credit unions.
