We've Lost a Member of Our Extended Credit Union Family - Joe DeCesare

Credit Union Family,

We are saddened to learn of the passing of Joe DeCesare, son of Gaye DeCesare. Many of you know Gaye from her years of service as a member of the League Board, various League advocacy and governmental affairs committees, and the League/Credit Unions Care Foundation Community Involvement Committee. She was also a longtime volunteer for the Northern Virginia Chapter, serving in various leadership roles.

Many of you also know Joe’s story and his courageous, years-long battle with cancer. If you are so moved, the family is requesting memorial donations be directed to Children’s Brain Tumor Network at cbtn.org.

Note: The Northern Virginia Credit Union Managers Association will be donating $7,500 in Joe’s memory to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals through the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Run. Joe was a longtime patient at Children’s National Hospital, the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital in Washington, D.C.
