Virginia CUs Win National Social Responsibility Awards

Credit unions got their start as a social movement -- one dedicated to providing access to affordable credit and helping everyday people achieve financial security and pursue their financial dreams.

An important part of that mission is social responsibility, those things we do to better our communities, educate and uplift our members, and practice our "People Helping People" philosophy.

We're proud to announce that Virginia-based credit unions captured eight national awards from the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) for various projects and initiatives! These credit unions had earlier won first-place awards in our state-level competition.

Dora Maxwell Award Winners

The Dora Maxwell Award is presented to credit unions for outstanding social responsibility projects in their communities.

Louise Herring Award Winners

The Louise Herring Award is given to a credit union demonstrating the internal application of credit union philosophy to help better financial matters and increase financial education for its members.

Less than $50 Million in Assets
