Richmond-Area Credit Unions Raise $17,226 for VACUPAC

Richmond-area credit unions, led by Henrico Federal Credit Union, have contributed $17,226 to the Virginia Credit Union Political Action Committee (VACUPAC).

Richmond-area credit unions and their business partners raised $17,226 for the Virginia Credit Union Political Action Committee (VACUPAC) through golf tournaments in 2021 and 2022.

League staff joined Henrico Federal Credit Union's Chris Williams (President/CEO) and Jason Ritter (SVP of Member Experience) for a check presentation on Wednesday. Henrico FCU, with participation from local credit unions and vendors, coordinates and sponsors the Bill Dawson VACUPAC Golf Tournament. 

"We are grateful for the support of area credit unions and our business partners," noted tournament organizer Jason Ritter, of Henrico FCU. "Support of VACUPAC helps further credit unions' advocacy efforts."

The tournament is named in honor of the late Bill Dawson, a longtime volunteer on the Henrico FCU board of directors and a champion for credit unions' advocacy work, including political fundraising. 

"We salute the hard work of Jason and the team at Henrico in organizing this tournament year after year in support of credit unions' advocacy work," said CeJae Vtipilson, League Director of Grassroots Programs and Political Fundraising, "and we appreciate the tremendous support of our credit unions, sponsors and golfers."
