League's NoVA-Area Legislative Reception Draws 12 Federal, State Lawmakers

NoVA Chapter Legislative Event

Forty credit union supporters and a dozen federal and state lawmakers attended the League's legislative reception Tuesday night in Fairfax. Apple Federal Credit Union hosted the event.

This was the latest in a series of receptions all across the Commonwealth designed to bring together credit unions and their state and federal representatives to discuss credit union and financial services issues. Credit unions also had the opportunity to share their work in serving members and in support of their communities.

"The success of our advocacy efforts hinges on the relationships we build with lawmakers," said CeJae Vtipilson, League Director of Grassroots Programs and Political Fundraising. "It's critically important that we connect with lawmakers to discuss the issues that matter to our members and the future of the credit union industry."
