League Seeks Participants for 2022 Credit Union Day at the General Assembly

Authored By: Lewis Wood on 1/20/2022

Join us January 27 to lobby for our credit union legislation!

Credit Union Advocates: Due to COVID-19, we are limiting the number of individuals to 27 who can participate in-person at this year’s Credit Union Day at the General Assembly

However, it’s important we express our views loudly in support of measures that help credit unions! On Jan. 27, we are asking you ALL to send a grassroots message to your delegate and senator to ask for their support through our grassroots portal.

To attend Credit Union Day in person on Jan. 27, please contact your League’s CeJae Vtipilson at cvtipilson@vacul.org

All logistics will be handled by your League, but we need credit union representatives on hand to fight for our legislation! Let’s give them 27 reasons to love a credit union on the 27th!

Details

(1) We have two credit union-specific bills this session - a secondary capital measure (companion bills HB268 and SB326) and a parity powers measure (companion bills HB209 and SB329)!

(2) Your League will make appointments for visits to members of key committees and House and Senate leadership. We will begin about 10 a.m. and wrap-up about 2 p.m.

3) Your League will provide a boxed lunch at Credit Union House (108 N 8th St., Richmond, 23219).

We appreciate your support and look forward to a productive day of advocacy on Jan. 27!
