League President/CEO Carrie Hunt participated virtually in today's ceremonial swearing-in ceremony for National Credit Union Administration Chairman Todd Harper.

"We congratulate Chairman Harper on his re-confirmation last month to serve a full term on the NCUA Board," notes Hunt. "We appreciate his knowledge of the financial services marketplace and his many years of regulatory and legislative experience as a staff member at NCUA and in various staff roles within Congress. We'll continue working with Chairman Harper on ensuring not only a safe and sound credit union system, but also one in which innovation is encouraged and credit unions are empowered to serve their members."

Harper was confirmed by the Senate in March 2019 to a partial term on the NCUA Board to fill the vacancy created when former Chairman Debbie Matz retired in 2016. Harper’s term expired in April 2021 and the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee voted to move the renewed confirmation forward in September 2021. His current term expires April 10, 2027.
