CFPB Focus of Oct. 27 House Financial Services Committee Hearing

The House Financial Services Committee’s October hearing schedule includes a full committee meeting titled, “Bringing Consumer Protection Back: A Semi-Annual Review of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau,” at 10 a.m., Oct. 27.

If sworn in by that day, Rohit Chopra will likely testify as director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau during the hearing.

Chopra was confirmed last week to head the CFPB. While everyone is holding their breath to see what he will tackle first on his agenda, we will soon know, as your League has filed a Freedom of Information Act request for Chopra’s briefing materials.

October 27 at 10:00 AM ET: The full Committee will convene for a hybrid hearing titled, “Bringing Consumer Protection Back: A Semi-Annual Review of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.”
