Martinsville, Virginia (May 2, 2022) – The ValleyStar RISE Foundation, the charitable arm of ValleyStar Credit Union, is thrilled to host The Big Tee Off golf tournament at Chatmoss Country Club in Martinsville, Virginia, on May 5, 2022. All funds raised will support Carilion Children’s Hospital located in Roanoke, Virginia.

The foundation’s initial goal was to raise $40,000 for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, but thanks to the support from sponsors, golfers and ValleyStar team members, they have exceeded the goal!

“I didn’t know what to expect since we have not been able to host the tournament in over two years, but everyone has been incredibly supportive in our efforts,” said Greta Kidd, Executive Director of the ValleyStar RISE Foundation. “Since we have surpassed our goal of $40,000 with five days left until we gather at Chatmoss, we’ve decided to set a new goal of $48,000 in hopes of having a greater collective impact.”

ValleyStar Credit Union’s team members have played a huge role in raising awareness about the importance of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals when engaging with members and when out in the community.

Both morning and afternoon flights for The Big Tee Off golf tournament for Children’s Miracle Network are currently sold out.

Headquartered in Martinsville, Virginia, the ValleyStar RISE Foundation was formed in 2019 and recently received its 501c3 designation in January 2022. The foundation strives to bridge gaps in workforce development and mental and physical health by providing funding as well as volunteer opportunities for ValleyStar Credit Union’s team and board members to happily give their time and talent to support good work in the community.
