About The Garland K. Keeling Memorial Scholarship Fund
The Garland K. Keeling Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by the Hampton Roads Chapter of the Virginia Credit Union League on November 26, 1968. This scholarship program commemorates the memory of Garland King Keeling, the first full-time Managing Director of the Virginia Credit Union League.
He served as Managing Director from Oct. 1, 1949 until his death on June 26, 1967. Mr. Keeling’s life was dedicated to putting into practice the basic philosophy of the brotherhood of man. The influences of his contributions to Credit Unions throughout the state and to the Virginia Credit Union League has been felt nationwide.
