DCCU Credit Card Campaign Garners $20K Donation to Food Bank
DuPont Community Credit Union (DCCU) recently held a special credit card campaign – Shop & Give – that benefitted its members and the community. During the months of July and August, DCCU credit card holders received additional rewards points or cash back for their grocery purchases. In turn, DCCU would donate a portion of all grocery purchases to the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank.
As a result of its Shop & Give campaign, DCCU was pleased to donate $20,000 to the Food Bank, which will help them provide over 80,000 meals for families in need.
“Gifts like these make a real difference in the Food Bank’s ability to make an impact, right here. The donation raised through DuPont Community Credit Union’s Shop and Give campaign will be used to help provide meals for those experiencing food insecurity,” said Michael McKee, CEO of the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. “We’ve recently seen inflation at a 40 year high, and we know that only in partnership with our community can we achieve our vision where everyone has enough to eat. We are stronger together in the effort to solve hunger.”
“We deeply appreciate the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank and the important role they play in helping to alleviate hunger in our community,” said Steve Elkins, DCCU President and CEO. “I am also grateful for our members and their support of this campaign, especially at a time when rising grocery prices continue to affect all consumers.”
