Emerging leaders in the credit union movement will once again “crash” the Credit Union National Association Governmental Affairs Conference (CUNA GAC) on February 23-27. Through Filene Research Institute’s Cooperative Trust “Crash” Program, over 50 young professional leaders will join thousands of credit union advocates for the year’s biggest credit union event.

The Virginia Credit Union League is pleased to announce that Shrey Solanki of Chartway Federal Credit Union will be representing Virginia this year! Shrey has been with the credit union for almost two years and his current role is Accounting Specialist. He is a graduate of Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA.

“It’s an exciting opportunity to represent Chartway Federal Credit Union as a Crasher at the 2020 Governmental Affairs Conference. I am looking forward to networking with credit union professionals and collaborating with them to develop innovative ideas to better advocate for the credit union industry,” said Solanki.

The Crash Program is designed to empower credit union emerging leaders through professional development and by finding and amplifying their voices to advocate for the role of young people in the industry. It is a non-stop, career-changing program for young professionals that allows them to participate in the industry’s largest advocacy conference with complimentary registration and exclusive networking opportunities.

“It’s important for our emerging leaders to be given the opportunity to learn about the advocacy process and the important role they play in the future of the credit union system,” says Rick Pillow, President of the Virginia Credit Union League. “We are privileged to have Shrey represent Virginia this year and hope his participation in the conference is an outstanding experience.”

Crash the GAC is brought to you by the Cooperative Trust from Filene Research Institute and is made possible by the generous support of CUNA, and with help from League partners.
