League's Karima Freeman Promoted to COO

Karima FreemanThe Virginia Credit Union League is proud to announce the promotion of Karima Freeman to Chief Operating Officer.

Freeman manages the League’s membership services, working directly with credit unions on dues and other membership and affiliation issues. She also oversees the League’s accounting, human resources and information technology functions, including the accounting functions of the Credit Union Service Company of Virginia (CUSCVA), the shared branching operation for participating credit unions in Virginia and South Carolina.

“This promotion reflects Karima’s commitment to our member credit unions and her work to support every facet of our operations,” said League President/CEO Carrie Hunt. “We appreciate her energy, her passion and her focus.”

A 23-year employee of the League, Freeman has previously served in a variety of accounting roles for the League and the Credit Union Service Company of Virginia.

“Each of us at the League is committed to the success of Virginia’s credit unions,” said Freeman. “I’m proud of what we accomplish through the support and engagement of our member credit unions -- as an advocate and champion; as their premier business solutions provider; and as the driving force behind collaborative initiatives that support credit unions’ growth and success.”
