DuPont Community Credit Union (DCCU) recently announced the winners of its annual scholarship contest, in which applicants were asked to write an essay about how they would describe financial health, why it’s important, and how DCCU can help to improve the financial health of the community. Once the winners were selected, DCCU employees attended many of the year-end awards programs to present the $1,000 scholarship awards in person.

“Investing in local students represents our commitment and passion for education as we help to ease the stress of paying for college,” said Steve Elkins, DCCU’s President and CEO.

The scholarship program is another way DCCU gives back to the community while helping to make an impact in the lives of students and their families. This year, DCCU awarded a total of $26,000 in scholarships to deserving students in our community, and $344,000 since the inception of the program in 1995.
