Small CUs: Need Financial Assistance to Attend IGNITE 2023? Let Us Know!

Credit unions with less than $50 million in assets: Are you interested in attending IGNITE | the League Annual Meeting, but you need financial assistance to cover costs? We may be able to help! Last year, the generous contributions of business partners helped provide scholarships for smaller CUs to attend IGNITE. If you’re interested in attending but need financial aid, please contact your League’s Mary Amyx at mamyx@vacul.org.

League Board Seeks Nominees for Kirsch, Farley Awards

We are seeking your recommendations for prospective candidates for our annual awards. The Virginia Credit Union League Board will name the winners of this year’s James P. Kirsch Lifetime Achievement Award and Eugene H. Farley Jr. Award of Excellence at the Annual Meeting in Williamsburg on May 25, 2023. The deadline for submissions is March 22.

League's Blau a Panelist on Nationwide CDFI Webinar

League Chief Advocacy Officer JT Blau was a featured panelist on a Community Development Financial Institutions webinar hosted today by Inclusiv. Blau shared recent developments in Virginia related to the state's CDFI program and the advocacy work of credit unions and the League in support of a bill during the recently completed General Assembly session to codify the state’s CDFI Fund.

CDFI Fund Holding March Conference Call on ACR, Submission Process

The Community Development Financial Institutions Fund (CDFI Fund) is holding an informational conference call intended to serve as a forum for Certified CDFIs and other Annual Certification and Data Collection Report (ACR) stakeholders to ask questions and discuss the ACR and its submission process. The call is free to the general public and does not require advance registration. The call is scheduled for March 16, at 3 p.m. More information can be accessed on the CDFI Fund's website here.
