League Offers Recap as General Assembly's Regular Session Nears Finish, Though Budget Remains Unresolved
Although officially scheduled to adjourn tomorrow, Senate Democrats and House Republicans have yet to come to terms on a budget, meaning the session is likely headed to "extra innings." Meanwhile, see our recap of the session here. Your League read through thousands of bills filed this session and tracked around 100 that were of particular interest to credit unions. Approximately half of these bills ultimately passed the legislature.

The Governance Committee of the Virginia Credit Union League seeks your recommendations for candidates to be nominated for election to the Board of Directors. In 2023, three board seats are open for election.
League Board Seeks Nominees for Kirsch, Farley Awards
We are seeking your recommendations for prospective candidates for our annual awards. The Virginia Credit Union League Board will name the winners of this year’s James P. Kirsch Lifetime Achievement Award and Eugene H. Farley Jr. Award of Excellence at the Annual Meeting in Williamsburg on May 25, 2023.

EPN Events Set for March 14 in Hampton, NoVA
Our regional Emerging Professionals Network groups in Greater Hampton Roads and NoVA are hosting events on March 14. The NoVA event features a CEO panel with Jeff Bentley (Northwest Federal Credit Union, Andy Grimm (Apple Federal Credit Union) and Carrie Hunt (Virginia Credit Union League). The Greater Hampton Roads event will be a networking session at Smoke BBQ.
