REGular Blog: Fixed or Float - NCUA Board Briefed on Interest Rate Cap

At Thursday's NCUA Board meeting, the Board received a briefing on the Loan Interest Rate Ceiling for federal credit unions. In today's rising interest rate environment, many credit unions are finding it difficult to properly risk-based price their loan and credit card products while operating within the bounds of the fixed interest rate cap. The idea of a floating interest rate cap has been gaining momentum as a possible solution. However, as you’ll read here, the Board still has concerns with this approach.

CUOnline Users: You Must Set Up Multi-Factor Authentication

In order to comply with Executive Order 14028, the National Credit Union Administration implemented Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for the CUOnline application on April 1, 2023. NCUA notes that a number of credit unions have not yet registered their account for multi-factor authentication. Failure to do so will affect your ability to file your Call Report.
