IGNITE 2023 Education Session: AI-Driven Resilience: Member-Focused Lending for Credit Unions in Any Economic Climate
With high inflation and an uncertain economic climate, credit unions are looking for smarter lending processes so that they can keep lending. In this session, we’ll review data from members on what they want from their credit union during a recession and we'll share insights and lessons from decisions made during past harsh financial climates. You'll learn how AI-automated underwriting can make credit union lending decisions smarter, more inclusive and more efficient in good times or bad.
EMERGE Leadership Module May 24: Learn How to Lead Strategically, Communicate With Impact
The leader is the key to the success of any team. The leader shapes the culture, focus, and direction of the team and sets expectations. The performance of any team is the direct result of the effectiveness of its leader. Through this workshop, leaders will learn how to shape employee mindset, develop effective behaviors, coach to skills, and improve results through coaching and accountability. While this May 24 in-person event is part of our EMERGE Leadership Certification, anyone can attend!

League Monitoring Interest Rate Discussion at NCUA’s April 20 Board Meeting
The NCUA board will be briefed on the federal credit union interest rate ceiling and issue a request for information on climate-related financial risk at its April 20 meeting. Your League urged NCUA to consider increasing the fixed rate cap or adopting a floating rate cap.
“Your League will be watching this discussion closely given recent developments and our current rate environment,” said League Chief Advocacy Officer JT Blau. “Federally chartered credit unions will continue to offer consumer-friendly loan products, but they need the flexibility to price those loans appropriately based on lending risk and the current rate environment.”

League Announces Scholarship Availability for Southeast CUNA Management School
Registration is now open Southeast CUNA Management June 18 – 23, 2023 in Athens, GA. Your League is now accepting scholarship applications for the school for interested attendees from credit unions with less than $250 million in assets. (April 24 is the scholarship deadline and scholarship awardees will be notified by May 10). The 2023 session is set to provide new and returning students with an exciting year of training, networking and knowledge that will help them progress through the program and at their respective credit unions.
