Small CUs: Need Financial Assistance to Attend IGNITE 2023? Let Us Know!

Credit unions with less than $50 million in assets: Are you interested in attending IGNITE | the League Annual Meeting, but you need financial assistance to cover costs? We may be able to help! Last year, the generous contributions of business partners helped provide scholarships for smaller CUs to attend IGNITE. If you’re interested in attending but need financial aid, please contact your League’s Mary Amyx at mamyx@vacul.org. REMINDER: Early bird pricing for IGNITE ends April 24!

We’re pleased to announce a new private wine-tasting and networking event at IGNITE (hosted at the Williamsburg Winery), which will benefit the Virginia Credit Union Political Action Committee! VACUPAC is the non-partisan PAC of Virginia-based credit unions, which supports lawmakers and political candidates who support credit unions. There are also sponsorship opportunities for this event. League's Hunt Named Finalist in RVA Power Women Awards

Virginia Credit Union League President/CEO Carrie Hunt has been named a finalist in the Richmond BizSense and Brown Edwards 2023 RVA Power Women Awards! Winners will be announced live at an evening award ceremony on May 4.

Southeast CUNA Management School Scholarship Deadline April 24

Registration is now open Southeast CUNA Management June 18 – 23, 2023 in Athens, GA. Your League is now accepting scholarship applications for the school for interested attendees from credit unions with less than $250 million in assets. (April 24 is the scholarship deadline and scholarship awardees will be notified by May 10). Note: The early bird registration discount for the school ends April 22. The 2023 session is set to provide new and returning students with an exciting year of training, networking and knowledge that will help them progress through the program and at their respective credit unions.

Register for NCUA’s Share Insurance Webinar on April 13

To help credit unions better understand share insurance, the National Credit Union Administration has scheduled a webinar for April 13 at 2 p.m., to discuss how member accounts are covered. Topics include: types of accounts covered by share insurance; what happens to share insurance coverage when credit unions merge; what happens to insurance of accounts if a member passes away; and general information about trusts.

Northwest Federal Credit Union’s Raquel Crossley (Talent Acquisition & DEIA Manager) and Olivia Fraser (Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist) will provide advice, tools and tips for successful interviews, including preparation and tackling tough questions.

TRGroup Offering Live Demos of Business Partners' Products, Services

The TRGroup, in collaboration with seven state leagues (including the Virginia Credit Union League), is excited to invite credit union executives to participate in the virtual “DEMO DAY 2023” on April 27. Demo Day is an opportunity for credit unions to see live demonstrations of products and services with enterprise-wide benefits for your operations and your members.
